Who lives in the Wadden Sea?
Did you know that the Wadden Sea is home to Germany's largest predator? Also, the king of the skies is at home here. You can even spot whales. A hint: in German, they are called “pig whales” - a somewhat confusing name. What about a fish that can grow more than six metres long? And don’t forget the fast swimmer with button eyes. Did you guess them? They are: grey seal, white-tailed eagle, porpoise, sturgeon, and seal. And these are just the five animals that stand out for their size. On the other end of the scale is the tiny lugworm, whose piles you will see everywhere above the mud. And mussels, and so much more... Over 10,000 animal and plant species live in the Wadden Sea. Surely our Wadden Sea between Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands is not the only one. But it is the largest in the world!
