De Vadder
The Father - Low German Play
André no longer understands the world. Familiar things constantly disappear, and strange people appear in his life. His favorite daughter no longer reaches out to him, while the other one annoys him more and more with her care and guardianship. Didn’t the widower and former engineer always have everything under control? Now he has to realize that his memory gaps are growing larger and that the ground is being pulled out from under his feet.
Florian Zeller tells the story of an Alzheimer’s disease consistently from the perspective of the affected person. He spares us neither the touching tragedy nor the absurd and sometimes hilarious moments.
