For the opening series, host Kai Stemmler has relied on a recommendation from singer Miriam Sauls, who has also announced her attendance(!), and invited saxophonist Artur Rutkevich as the special guest.

Originally from Kaliningrad, he has been living in Berlin since 2020, where he studied jazz saxophone at the Jazz Institute Berlin. He can rightly be considered a rising star in the European jazz scene. He leads his own quintet and plays in major jazz clubs such as B-flat and Schlot or the Blue Note in Dresden. Artur Rutkevich has also performed at various jazz festivals across Europe, including the See More Jazz Festival, Kaliningrad City Jazz, and the 24th Big Band Festival in Nowy Tomysl.

The accompanying band consists of contrabassist Kai Stemmler, drummer Mario Wissmann, and Kiel pianist Vera von Reibnitz. As always, after the opening series, jazz musicians are warmly invited to join in.
