The Bergmühle shows the Argentine film "Goodbye Buenos Aires" (2023) by Germán Kral
Buenos Aires 2001: Julio Färber, owner of a shoe store and passionate bandoneon player in a tango orchestra, sees no other way out amid economic crisis and political chaos but to emigrate to Germany, his mother's birthplace. But then he meets the temperamental taxi driver Mariela through a car accident. With Ricardo Tortorella, the still enchanting singing tango icon from former times, Julio's band finds a new voice and almost returns to its former glory. Should Julio give up all this for a more economically secure life in Europe, where no one is as passionate about tango? Germán Kral has made his first feature film with Diego Cremonesi (ROJO) after the award-winning documentaries A LAST TANGO and THE LAST APPLAUSE. Greats from the Argentine tango scene perform the film music with lyrics that wonderfully reflect the hope and passion of the "Porteños," the inhabitants of Buenos Aires.
The film is dubbed in German and lasts 93 minutes. Admission is free. The hat is passed around.
