On behalf of Uncle Titus, the three question marks are sent on a rainy night to ZEUS, a now-closed excursion spot in the middle of the Nevada desert. Here, they are supposed to pick up old but functional slot machines. However, the incessant downpour makes a return home impossible. Justus, Peter, and Bob manage to convince the tight-lipped janitor to let them stay at a nearby motel. But when more unexpected guests arrive, dark secrets about the remote location are revealed. In fact, a real UFO is said to have crashed nearby. And then Peter discovers a phantom-like figure that haunts the grounds.

Phantom Highway is now the sixth adventure of the popular young detectives told as a graphic novel. Alongside references to the horror classic by Gaston Leroux, 50s sci-fi, and retro games, this case also offers musical surprises. These come from the pen of New York songwriter Phoebe Kreutz. Once again, the proven team of Calle Claus and Christopher Tauber is responsible for the overall work.
