Concert: Spirit of Santana - the ultimate Carlos Santana illusion!
As early as the beginning of 1999 - many months before the then Santana success with the album "Supernatural" - seven musicians from Flensburg formed a band to play the music of Carlos Santana and carry its spirit into the world. This was followed by many club gigs that were completely sold out in a very short time, as well as acclaimed performances at countless city festivals and packed open-air concerts, where huge crowds in front of the stage sometimes caused traffic chaos! Soon, the Allstars took their Flensburg roots across the country, to places like Westphalia, Berlin, Brandenburg, and even to the Ore Mountains, with legendary concerts alongside headliners such as "Status Quo," the "Animals," the "Weather Girls," and many other internationally known artists. The "SoS Drum Wall," consisting of drummer "Mollo" Lorenzen in the center, flanked by percussionist "El Timbal" Ralph Schmedeke on the timbales & co., and Janne Thomassen as "Enciclopedia de percusión" on the congas, drives the band relentlessly like a machine. Along with groove machine Gerhard "Ali" Albrecht - a true asset on bass, "Gentleman" Michael Schmidt with his authentically elegant keyboard passages, singer Frank Rühmann with his charmingly powerful portion of frontman energy, and finally guitarist Bent Wolff with his unmistakable guitar playing, the band ignites a true musical fireworks from the very first minute that is unparalleled! Classics like "Black Magic Woman," "Oye Como Va," "Samba Pa Ti," and "Europa," "Maria Maria," and "Corazon Espinado," as well as the triple Grammy-awarded hit "Smooth," are presented by this formation of internationally experienced musicians with a lot of energy, so that no leg stays still for long! This gives a glimpse of what attendees of a Spirit of Santana gig can expect: An electrifying Latin rock pop evening of the highest caliber with a top-performing band, great fun, and a guitarist who truly only falls short of the original in hairstyle! After a spectacular comeback in October 2019 with two sold-out concerts celebrating the 20th anniversary, accompanied by incredible applause and energy, the "Flensburg Allstars" are back on stage and are sure to leave an enthusiastic audience behind! The band looks forward to seeing you! The view of the stage from the seating area is limited, as there is also a dance floor in front of the stage.
