Beach Sandwig
Sandwig Beach in Glücksburg is located directly by the Flensburg Fjord and is one of the most popular bathing spots in the region. The fine sandy beach with views of the historic water castle Glücksburg offers ideal conditions for families, sun-seekers, and water sports enthusiasts. Its central location near the promenade, restaurants, and the spa park makes Sandwig particularly attractive for day visitors and vacationers.
During the summer months, the DLRG provides additional safety at the main beach. Water sports enthusiasts find perfect conditions for stand-up paddling, and SUP boards are seasonally rented out at the beach. There is no designated dog beach; four-legged friends are only allowed on the beach outside the main season.
Sandwig is well accessible for those with mobility challenges: Ramps lead to the beach, and the spa park features barrier-free paths. There are accessible seating options in the vicinity, as well as an inclusive swing in the spa park, which makes the visit easier for people with mobility impairments.
With its mix of bathing enjoyment, fjord views, water sports, and proximity to the castle, Sandwig Beach is a versatile destination for guests who want to experience Glücksburg's maritime side.
Note: During the main season from May to September, a beach usage fee is charged at the beach. This contributes to the maintenance, safety, and infrastructure of the beach area. Outside this time, the beach is accessible free of charge.
