Flowers, everywhere. "Countess Hardenberg" glows in red, and "Augusta Luise" shines in rosé. In the middle, visitors find "Greeting from Angeln". 50 different varieties of roses enchant tourists at the Landschaftsmuseum Angeln in Unewatt. This rose garden was laid out in 1996 and, together with a thatched summerhouse, forms an idyllic gem. One could find the beautiful arbour in the garden of butter merchant Georg Henningsen in 1926; he used it together with his wife as a retreat from rain and sun. The garden was - as was customary in rural tradition - a kitchen garden as well as an ornamental garden. When a new house was to be built on the property, the arbour was taken down and rebuilt on the museums’s property.
