Beach Holnis
The Holnis beach in Glücksburg is among the most versatile coastal stretches of the Flensburg Fjord. The long sandy coast offers gently sloping areas for families, wide natural beaches in the nature reserve, and perfect conditions for water sports. During the summer months, the lifeguards of the DLRG ensure safety while swimming at the central section Holnis Three.
Holnis is ideal for active vacationers: a SUP station, surf courses, and rental offers for boards and water sports equipment make the beach a popular spot for stand-up paddling, windsurfing, and kitesurfing.
Dogs are also welcome: the designated dog beach Holnis is located south of the main beach and offers four-legged friends free access to the water.
Holnis is also excellently accessible for people with disabilities. Wheelchair users can reach the beach directly via ramps, and both beach wheelchairs (Mobichairs) and wheelchair-friendly beach baskets can be rented. These even allow for bathing in the water.
With its mix of family-friendly beach, nature experiences, water sports, and barrier-free offerings, Holnis is an ideal destination for vacationers, day visitors, and outdoor enthusiasts – with wide views over the fjord to the Danish coast.
Note: During the main season from May to September, a beach usage fee is charged at the beach. This contributes to the maintenance, safety, and infrastructure of the beach area. Outside of this time, the beach is freely accessible.
