BICYCLE FERRY TO DENMARK
The bicycle ferry "Thjalfe" connects Germany and Denmark across the Flensburg Fjord and is ideal for cycling tours and hikes across the border. From Langballigau, the route leads over Brunsnæs and Marina Minde to Egernsund. The crossing from Langballigau to Brunsnæs takes about 30 minutes, and to Egernsund roughly one hour. Thus, the trip can be perfectly combined with a cycling tour, the Gendarmenpfad, or the Baltic Sea Cycle Route.
Timetable: During the summer months, "Thjalfe" operates daily. Depending on the route, there are numerous departures between 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. As the ferry can only accommodate twelve passengers and twelve bicycles, early booking is recommended.
Catering is available directly on board in the form of soft drinks and beer. At the landing points in Langballigau, Brunsnæs, and Egernsund, there are additional options for snacks, ice cream, and drinks.
Accessibility: Barrier-free ramps have been set up in Egernsund and at the port of Rendbjerg, making boarding and alighting easier. The specific accessibility of the ferry should be clarified in advance with the operator for individual requirements.
