Copper Mill Industrial Museum – Industrial History at the German-Danish Border

Just a few minutes north of Flensburg, right at the German-Danish border, the Copper Mill Industrial Museum invites you on an exciting journey through over 400 years of industrial history. In the idyllic tunnel valley of the Krusau, a waterwheel-powered hammer mill was established as early as the 17th century for processing copper and brass. Today, the historical factory halls with original machines, old time clocks, and numerous exhibits tell the story of one of the region's most significant industrial sites.

After your visit to the museum, a walk through Copper Mill is worthwhile, featuring one of the oldest preserved workers' settlements in Northern Europe. Through the forest, you can reach the historic border crossing Schusterkate, offering a splendid view of the Flensburg Fjord – an ideal excursion destination for those interested in history and nature.
