Oluf-Samson-Gang

Other sightseeing
A small alley with a multifaceted history – the Oluf Samson Alley.
The paved passage is named after the shipowner & merchant Oluf Samson, who owned the area around 1600. From the 18th century onwards, sailors & craftsmen settled in the area and used it as a regular residential street. The residential street then became known as "Liebesgasse" (Love Alley). The "Oluf" embodied the entertainment district of the city and became notorious for its light ladies. Once a corner to be avoided, today it is a magnet & an essential highlight when visiting Flensburg.
