Harbor East Bank Flensburg – Maritime Atmosphere and History at the Fjord

The east bank of the Flensburg harbor offers a unique blend of maritime history, harbor life, and views of the Flensburg Fjord. The area stretches from the harbor point along the eastern fjord bank, passing by historic harbor facilities, small jetties, and the fishing harbor.

A special highlight is the fishing harbor on the east bank. Here, the remaining fishing boats are docked, and on weekends, the fishermen provide information on boards about their current catch, which is partially sold directly on-site. The fishing harbor also includes a small beach and a mini-museum.

Along the east bank, you will encounter further evidence of Flensburg's maritime past. The historic Angelburger Street, Johannis Street, and the adjacent Captain's Quarter with its small passages and old captain's houses make the area an exciting destination for a city walk.

The view over the fjord also makes the east bank particularly appealing. From here, you can discover the opposite old town, the ships in the harbor, and the landscape on the other side of the fjord. At the same time, the northern part of the harbor's east bank, with its warehouses, silos, and cranes, showcases the industrial side of the Flensburg harbor.
