Museum Shipyard Flensburg – Experience Traditional Shipbuilding Up Close

The Museum Shipyard Flensburg is one of the most popular attractions at the historic harbor of the ferry city. Right by the ship bridge, visitors can experience authentic wooden shipbuilding, maritime craftsmanship, and lovingly restored sailing ships. In the open workshops, volunteer boat builders demonstrate traditional techniques for preserving and restoring historical vessels – an exciting destination for families, technology enthusiasts, and history buffs.

The Museum Shipyard combines vibrant history with maritime charm and offers a unique insight into Flensburg's seafaring history. Especially during the summer months, at events, or during the steam round, there is a special atmosphere here. Due to its location at the Flensburg Harbor, a visit can be perfectly combined with a stroll along the promenade or a visit to the Maritime Museum.

Accessibility: The outdoor area is mostly at ground level and easily accessible. However, some historical areas or workshops may only have limited accessibility. It is advisable for visitors with mobility restrictions to contact in advance.

For a maritime break, the Shipyard Café directly on the grounds of the Museum Shipyard Flensburg offers a perfect spot. Here, visitors can enjoy the special atmosphere at the historic harbor with coffee, cake, and light meals. The view of the shipyard, traditional vessels, and maritime activity makes the café a popular stop for tourists, families, and harbor visitors.
